New York Fashion Week is one of the biggest weeks of the year. From Kanye's release of his 2015 line, to Rick Owens continuation of his "full frontal" runways, it's not something any of us can ignore. For Lobby however, this year proved to be one of the best. Some of our favorite designers debuted jaw-dropping pieces that we can't wait to get our hands on. One of our favorite brands, Skingraft, launched a men and women's collection that included lots of poncho inspired pieces, different takes on the ever so popular jogger, puffy vests with cowl necks, floor length coats featuring tapestry details and sheep's skin lined motorcycle jackets and vests.
Another one of Lobby's biggest brands, Rick Owens, made a huge impact at this year's fashion week. Aside from his obvious jaw-dropping "full frontal" displays down the runway, his pieces we're also something to talk about. Incorporating the leather harness trend to his line, he had brighter pieces than usual. He also debuted a beautiful women's line with flowing yet structured pieces that incorporated both delicate and rougher fabrics.
Not forgetting Maison Margiela, one of the bigger designers to make an impact on the fashion industry during this week, maintained his aesthetic throughout his line, while also incorporating "a new standard of beauty" into the show. A consistent line that showcased the stunning balance between different suedes, denim, and delicate fabrics like silk.
New York Fashion Week, once again, blew us all away, and we can't wait to get our hands on some of these stunning pieces.
And of course, highlighting one of Fashion Week's biggest stars, Kanye West's line, Yeezy, was a definite headliner. Kanye stuck with a militant aesthetic for the brand, and displayed pieces that even we would wear on an everyday basis. From amazing black leather trench coats lined with fur, to cropped vests that would look good over any basic tee, the brand is definitely worth talking about.
